 Research Grants and Contracts Income

This graph shows the College’s total research grants and contracts income by source between 2012-13 and 2016-17. The biggest percentage increases between 2012-13 and 2016-17 have come in research income from "EU and Overseas industry" (60%), "EU government bodies" (17%), and "Research Councils" (13%). "UK charities" decreased over the same period (-3%).

Research Grants and Contracts Income by Source

This graph shows the proportion of the College’s research grants and contracts income from each source in 2012-13 and 2016-17. In 2016-17, “UK charities” (17.8%) and "Research councils" (31.9%) accounted for nearly half of the College’s research income. In 2012-13 these figures were 20.2% and 31.1% respectively. Research income from "EU government bodies" (11.7%)  and "EU and overseas industry" (10.3%) have shown an increase compared to 2012-13.
