Doctoral Study

We are glad that you are interested in joining our lab, and we strongly encourage you to contact Dr. Angeloudis before you begin the application process

Ideal candidates should have or expect to obtain a first-class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant quantitative discipline (e.g. Engineering, Logistics, Computing, Economics}, and a passion for transport systems and operations research. 

Due to the large volume of enquiries that we receive, we kindly request that any initial emails should include the following: 

  • An explanation of your motivation to work with our group
  • A brief outline of your prospective topic of study (approximately 400 words)
  • A recent CV, that includes degree result and, if possible, class ranking.
  • An indication of the funding mechanism(s) that you wish to apply for, or ability to self-fund.

Candidates are reminded to consider their fee status (Home/EEA/Overseas) while reviewing funding sources.

We regularly host student interns funded through the Imperial College Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Angeloudis before the end of January to discuss options. We regret that we cannot offer internships or term placement to external students.

Dissertation opportunities with our group are advertised to the students of the MEng in Civil & Environmental Engineering and MSc in Transport. The projects we offer typically require good programming skills and an interest in computational optimisation or statistics .
